Woody Allen's 'Husbands and Wives'
May 20, 2010
Oscar® winner Woody Allen directs and stars in this comedy drama about middle-aged New Yorkers confronting the difficulties of contemporary relationships, commitment and change. Writer and English professor Gabe Roth (Allen) and his wife Judy (Mia Farrow) are shocked to learn that their best friends Jack (Sydney Pollack) and Sally (Judy Davis) are splitting up. Coupled with Gabe’s attraction to a much younger student, the revelation forces them to confront the failings in their own marriage. Co-starring Juliette Lewis, Lysette Anthony and Liam Neeson, Husbands and Wives is vintage Allen at his best, displaying his trademark irony and humour. (1992)
