Packed to the Rafters

The story kicks off much as we left it at the end of Series 2 – after the long awaited birth of Ruby Rafter. As Julie recovers in hospital, in awe of her new daughter, the Rafters celebrate – all except for Sammy, whose absence is both conspicuous and mysterious. Lost in her baby bubble, Julie is unaware of the turmoil awaiting youngest son Nathan at home as he discovers Sammy missing, and two notes, one addressed to Dave and Julie, the other to him, both expressing the fact that the marriage is over. Determined to make amends, and turn over a new leaf, Nathan heads straight to the hospital to tell his parents the truth about why she left – his gambling habit. Nathan’s determination to fight for his marriage forces Julie to compare the innocence of Ruby to Nathan’s turmoil – if only she could protect Nathan the way she is currently protecting Ruby...
